Wendy spent sixteen years with Digital Equipment of Canada Limited in Ottawa, in various Marketing positions, and founded Professional Event Planners Inc. (PEP), in 1996.

Under her direction, PEP has established a foundation based on reliability, creativity and a conscientious image. She is known for her strong project management skills, attention to detail and flawless delivery of events. Our specialty is creating customized events that will meet the needs of our corporate clientele. Wendy's solid credentials and thorough dedication makes her a much sought-after Event Specialist.

Executive Planner
Following a successful 12 year career in sales and marketing at Bell Actimedia, Joanne Taylor has joined Professional Event Planners as an Associate, Media and Sponsorship Manager. A key contributor on several recent PEP projects, including the AGRA Systems charitable golf tournament and the Wedding Palace Bridal Show. Joanne's communication and organizational skills will help ensure the success of your next event.

With a degree in Communications from Carleton University and performing equally well in both official languages, Joanne possesses all the qualities of a professional along with the personality, enthusiasm and drive necessary to do the job right. From the initial idea and planning phase to sponsorship, Joanne is an asset to our event management team.

Lisa Jordan Weiss

Lisa Jordan Weiss

Strategic Communication & Facilitation
An associate of Professional Event Planners, Lisa, is a dynamic bilingual Communication Specialist who specializes in strategic communication planning, process documentation, communication proposal writing, writing for the web and facilitation process design and delivery.

Lisa possesses over 12 years of experience working in both the public and private sectors. Selected accomplishments to date include:

  • The development and implementation of a communication strategy for the newly created Canadian Livestock Identification Agency
  • Facilitation of public consultation sessions for the City of Ottawa's Advisory committees (Accessibility & Environment), facilitation of various strategic and project planning sessions for Nortel Networks, the Ottawa Food Bank and Industry Canada as well as Industry Canada a public consultation session on Canada's Innovation Strategy
  • The creation of communications strategies, processes and guidelines for over 30 communications specialists and over 5,000 employees relating to communication planning; media engagement; online and hard copy publications; special events and general employee assemblies
  • Documentation of the processes and procedures for all off-site technical training courses offered by Mitel Networks
  • Web content design and development for Nortel Networks, HRDC's Human Resources Management and Real Alternatives Inc.

Lisa holds a B.A. in Political Science from Concordia University and a Certificate in Public Relations Management from McGill University. She is also a qualified Personality DimensionsTM Facilitator trained in advanced group facilitation, project planning analysis and control and diversity in the workplace.

Tom O'Brien

Tom O'Brien

International Facilitator
Tom has been providing facilitation services and team building workshops since 1998. He has worked in Singapore, the United States, Australia, and South Africa. His areas of specialty are teams and organizational transformation. Tom has been involved in a variety of facilitation sessions ranging from small focus groups to major corporate events of over 500 people. He also recognizes that every client and every facilitation session is different so he relies on his experience, his listening skills, and his instincts to lead individuals and groups toward their objectives.

In addition to facilitation and training, Tom has been asked to speak at various conferences. Some of the topics covered include: Transforming the Workplace, EQ at Work, and the Dynamics of Teams.

Tom brings a broad range of experience to Facilitation from his previous positions with Bay Networks, Bell Canada and BC TEL. He is a graduate of the Western Ivey School of Business Administration and the St. Francis Xavier University Adult Education Program. He applies his work and educational experience in his unique and creative approach to Training and Facilitating. His ability to relate to and communicate with groups is exceptional. Tom's understanding of group dynamics and group process has been instrumental in helping organizations build stronger and more effective work teams.

Tom is married with two children and lives in Chelsea, Quebec. He enjoys mountain biking, cross-country skiing, and canoeing.
